11/8/17 ASHLAND, Ohio – The Ashland Center for Nonviolence (ACN) is hosting a panel discussion on “War in the Bible” on Wednesday, Nov. 15, at 7 p.m. in the Ridenour Room of the Dauch College of Business and Economics on the Ashland University campus. The event is free and open to the public.
Dr. Mignon Jacobs, dean and chief academic officer at Ashland Theological Seminary, will moderate the panel discussion and she will be joined by presenters Dr. Craig Hovey, AU associate professor of religion and Ashland Center for Nonviolence executive director, and Dr. Daniel Hawk, professor of Old Testament and Hebrew.
“The Bible is extremely confusing when it comes to war,” Hovey said. “I’m mostly interested in how Christians who have been taught by Jesus to turn the other cheek are supposed to read and interpret all of the bloodshed we find there.”
