Ashland Theological Seminary’s John Byron Authors Commentary

10/16/14 ASHLAND, Ohio – Dr. John Byron, professor of New Testament at Ashland Theological Seminary, has authored a commentary on the Apostle Paul’s letters to the Thessalonians (Zondervan, 2014).

The book is part of a new commentary series for today’s world titled “The Story of God Bible Commentary,” which explains and illuminates each passage of Scripture in light of the Bible’s grand story.

“The first commentary series to do so, it offers a clear and compelling exposition of biblical texts, guiding everyday readers in how to creatively and faithfully live out the Bible in their own contexts,” Byron said. “Its story-centric approach is ideal for pastors, students, Sunday school teachers and laypeople alike.”

Byron has written three other books, but is particularly proud of this most recent one since “it is written specifically for the Church.”

Byron has published articles in a number of journals and edited volumes and contributes to the “Biblical Views” column in Biblical Archaeology Review. He earned his Ph.D. in New Testament from the University of Durham in England and has been teaching at Ashland Seminary for 11 years.
