10/19/12 ASHLAND, Ohio – Ashland Theological Seminary is hosting a “Church and Minister Tax Seminar” featuring Robert “Butch” Rogers, CPA and founder of Learn Tax Now, LLC. Sponsored by the Sandberg Leadership Center at the Seminary, the seminar will be held Nov. 10 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The cost of the class, which will be held in the Leadership Center, is $95.
Even though churches are tax exempt and generally pay no income tax, churches are not outside the reach of the IRS. Churches are responsible for correctly reporting payroll, understanding the rules for charitable contributions, recognizing unrelated business income and filing the appropriate returns. The tax rules for ministers are complex and often controversial. This seminar will provide current information on all these areas.
Ashland Theological Seminary is a graduate division of Ashland University. With campuses in Ashland, Detroit, Cleveland and Columbus, Ashland Theological Seminary integrates theological education with Christ-centered transformation as it equips men and women for ministry in the church and the world.
