4/30/13 ASHLAND, Ohio -- Two Ashland University accounting students -- Jessica Workinger of Orrville, Ohio, and Grace Bowers of Wadsworth, Ohio – have received scholarships from the Ohio Regional Council of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA).
The scholarships were presented to both students by Jeff Falter of the Babcock and Wilcox Power Generation Group at the Meonske Professional Development Conference at Kent State University on April 25.
Workinger, who received a $2,500 scholarship, will be the AU Accounting Club president next year. She will be interning this summer at the J.M. Smucker Company in Orrville, Ohio.
Bowers, who received a $1,500 scholarship, is a past recipient of a national IMA scholarship and currently serves as vice president of the AU IMA Accounting Club. She will be interning this summer at the Timken Company in Canton, Ohio.
“The Ohio Regional Council of IMA has been a steadfast supporter of students through their scholarships for both academic support and for participation in the national IMA leadership conference,” said Dr. Kristine Parsons, associate professor of accounting and chair of the Department of Accounting /Information Systems. “It has made a real difference in the professional development of our students.”
