9/6/16 ASHLAND, Ohio – Tonya Bowser, a 1999 graduate of Ashland University and the quality assurance manager at CCA Lake Erie Correctional Institution in Conneaut, Ohio, has been named Accreditation Manager of the Year for the State of Ohio by the Criminal-Justice Accreditation Association of Ohio (CAAO).
Bowser was presented with the award on Sept. 1 at CAAO's annual meeting in Cincinnati.
CAAO is comprised of law enforcement and correctional professionals throughout Ohio, is affiliated with the national Correctional Accreditation Managers Association. The Accreditation Manager of the Year award is presented to the individual who most demonstrates excellence in corrections accreditation throughout Ohio’s adult and juvenile corrections systems.
"This is an outstanding accomplishment by Tonya," said Brigham Sloan, warden at Lake Erie. "Her behind-the-scenes work in quality assurance is vital to our mission at Lake Erie and we are proud to see her honored as one of the best in Ohio for her exceptional efforts."
As quality assurance manager, Bowser is tasked with ensuring CCA Lake Erie Correctional Institution adheres to the stringent standards and guidelines set forth by the American Correctional Association (ACA). Her work ensures the safety and wellbeing of both staff and the individuals in the facility’s care.
Bowser has been employed with CCA since 2012. A native of Andover, Ohio, Bowser currently resides in Lake County.
