10/11/11 ASHLAND, OH -- The award-winning Ashland University Jazz Orchestra will perform a wide variety of selections at a free public concert on Tuesday, Oct. 18, in the Hawkins-Conard Student Center's Eagles' Nest at 7:30 p.m.
Led by Ashland University Associate Professor of Music Dr. Scott Garlock, the Jazz Orchestra will begin the concert with Garlock's arrangement of Carmen Valazquez's "Besame Mucho" followed by Jon Harpin's arrangement of "Black Coffee," "Come Rain or Come Shine" arranged by Patrick Williams, "Consolation" by David Morgan, "The Count Is In" by Jim Martin, and "Eager Beaver" by Stan Kenton. Other pieces include Garlock's "Hope," Myles Collins' arrangement of "Scoot," Jim Martin's "Semi-Mental Journey," and Rich Derosa's arrangement of "Yankee Doodle."
