9/10/10 ASHLAND, OH -- The Ashland University Bookstore, Youth and Literacy Team and Peers for Animal Welfare (PAW) invite those in the community to meet Clifford, the Big Red Dog, on Saturday, Sept. 25, at 11 a.m. in the Ashland University Bookstore.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will include a reading of several short stories from the Clifford series as well as Clifford-themed events. Give-a-ways will include balloons, cookies, coloring sheets and bookmarks, and each child will have the opportunity to have his or her picture taken with Clifford.
Children also will also have the opportunity to meet and learn about local therapy dogs provided by PAW ( Peers for Animal Welfare).
Parents are asked to call the bookstore at 419-289-5336 to reserve a spot for their children.
Other Bookstore activities for the academic year include a Halloween Costume Party on Oct. 30, a Character Breakfast with Corduroy Bear on Nov. 20, and a Polar Express Breakfast featuring Santa Claus on Dec. 4.
