4/20/15 ASHLAND, Ohio – Dr. Sivakumar Venkataramany, a professor of international business at Ashland University, has been awarded the Burton D. Morgan Foundation Chair in Business Enterprise for 2015 through 2018.
The chair was established in 1991 by the Burton D. Morgan Foundation to perpetuate the American business tradition of private enterprise with an emphasis on the role of the entrepreneur. Dr. Kumar was competitively selected from an exceptional group of Dauch College of Business and Economics faculty.
“Dr. Kumar has maintained an aggressive and ongoing research agenda since joining Ashland University in 1999,” said Dr. Jeff Russell, dean of the Dauch College of Business and Economics and chair of the selection committee. “We are especially excited about Dr. Kumar’s studies of entrepreneurship in developing countries.”
Kumar was very excited to receive the selection. “I look forward to further pursuing this line of research, of working closely with AU students on research projects, and to bringing world-renowned experts in this area to Ashland for presentations,” he said.
Dr. Kumar also is an active participant in UN events such as the World Economic Forum in Geneva, Switzerland, as well as the 2013 UNCTAD meeting on capacity building and sustainable development in Geneva.
