6/4/10 ASHLAND, OH -- The Ashland University Catering and Conferences Department has been honored by the National Association of College and University Foods Services (NACUFS) for its entry in the annual Loyal E. Horton Dining Awards.
The Catering and Conferences Department received a gold award for its entry in the best catering standard menu category for a medium sized school. Schools are categorized by the number of full-time students as well as the food and beverage expenses at each institution. This is the highest honor that can be achieved within the category of catering. There were 172 entries in this year's 37th annual Loyal E. Horton Dining Awards Contest.
According to Jim Misel, Ashland University general manager for catering sales and marketing, "It's always exciting. This is our seventh time winning the award. It's nice to get recognized by your peers and have them validate what you're doing."
Ashland University's Catering and Conferences Department services roughly 1,400 events per year.
