4/22/14 ASHLAND, Ohio - The Coburn Art Gallery on the Ashland University campus has scheduled three summer art sessions – a Summer Art Camp and two separate Art Days -- that will allow for art experiences for young artists.
The Summer Art Camp, titled “Nature Meets the Art Museum,” will be a one-week session June 16 to 20 from 9 a.m. to noon. The activities will include printmaking, watercolor painting, recycled art and ceramics. The camp ratio of instructor to student is 1:7. The cost for the summer camp fee is $65 per child and all materials are provided.
“Students ages 7 to 14 will learn how to use a variety of media and experience activities including painting, drawing, printmaking and sculpture. They will develop a cultural appreciation and aesthetic awareness as they explore different art forms as well as developing their own talent for self-expression,” said Cynthia Petry, director of the Coburn Art Gallery.
The Art Days are set for July 9 and July 15.
The July 9 session will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and is for ages 4 to 6. The cost for this one-day experience is $10 per child.
On July 15, the art experience will be held from 9 a.m. to noon and is for ages 7 to 12. The cost of this one-day session is $10 per child.
