4/11/11 ASHLAND, OH -- Ashland University's Department of Recreational Services will be hosting a Community Sports and Activities Camp during the summer months.
This is a weeklong camp for children ages 5 to 12 that will provide them the opportunity to participate in various sports and activities that will teach them teamwork, enhance fundamental sports skills, and emphasize the importance of physical activity in living a healthy life.
This camp is supervised by Ashland University professional and student staff. Campers of all skill levels will participate in sports such as soccer, basketball, kickball, whiffle-ball, floor hockey, swimming and more.
In addition to traditional sports, campers will be able to make new friends through teambuilding games to help develop new social skills, while daily activities in the pool and on the climbing wall will give campers a chance to experience new ways to become physically active.
There are three different sessions for this camp. The first one is from June 20-24, with the registration deadline set for June 15. The second one is from July 11- 15, with the registration deadline set for July 6. The last one is from July 25-29, with the registration deadline set for July 20. All sessions are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with extended care available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The cost for the first camper is $150 and $100 for each additional sibling. For extended care, there is an extra $10 charge for each day needed.
The camp is located at the Ashland University Recreational Center. Campers should wear athletic attire, gym shoes, and bring a swimsuit. A healthy afternoon snack and water will be provided, however campers must bring their own lunch.
