5/12/15 ASHLAND, Ohio – Sydney Tenyak of Wadsworth, Ohio, was named valedictorian and Autumn Hogan of Port Clinton was named salutatorian at Ashland University’s commencement ceremony held at Jack Miller Stadium on May 9.
Tenyak has achieved a perfect 4.00 grade point average in her courses at Ashland University while completing a major in Business Management with a minor in Economics. Tenyak has taken a position at Frito-Lay in Wooster.
While at AU, she participated in an internship at the Orville Area Chamber of Commerce. She is a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority, is a resident assistant, has played club volleyball, and participated in S.I.F.E. and HSRM. She is a member of the Delta Mu Delta and Alpha Lambda Delta honor societies and was selected for the Outstanding Senior Academic award by her department.
Tenyak attended Wadsworth Senior High School where she was a member of the French Club and played basketball and volleyball.
Hogan majored in Early Childhood Education at Ashland University and earned reading and generalist endorsements. She did her student teaching this spring at Mapleton Elementary School. She has been part of O-Team, and is a member of Alpha Lambda Delta, Omicron Delta Kappa, and Kappa Delta Pi honor societies.
Hogan has been hired to teach third grade at Bellevue Elementary School.
Hogan attended Port Clinton High School in Port Clinton, Ohio, where she was a member of the National Honor Society, French Club and Future Teachers of America, and participated in cheerleading.
