1/10/17 ASHLAND, Ohio – Three of Ashland University’s online programs were recognized with high rankings in the prestigious U.S. News and World Report lists for Best Online Programs for 2017.
AU’s Online Bachelor’s Program was rated as the second best online program in Ohio and the 92nd ranked program nationally among the Best Online Bachelor’s Programs, while AU’s Master of Business Administration Online Program was ranked as the fifth best online program in Ohio and the 111th nationally among the Best Online MBA Programs. Also, AU’s Education Online Program was ranked 123rd among the Best Online Education Programs.
“We are very excited that these three programs received recognition and that our online bachelor’s program was ranked as the second best to Ohio State University in the state and 92nd best in the country out of the more than 300 online programs ranked,” said Dr. Todd Marshall, associate provost for AU’s College of Online and Adult Studies. “Ashland University has remained true to its mission of delivering high-quality education to students both inside and outside of the classroom, and this recognition truly shows the University’s dedication to online education.”
Ashland University offers online bachelor’s degree programs in business, criminal justice, multidisciplinary studies, and RN to BSN program.
For the Best Online Bachelor’s Programs ranking, the U.S. News and World Report chose factors that weighed how these programs were being delivered and their effectiveness at awarding affordable degrees in a reasonable amount of time. For this ranking, U.S. News assessed schools based on four general categories -- Student engagement (40 percent), Faculty credentials and training (20 percent), Student services and technology (20 percent), and Peer reputation (20 percent).
The Best Online MBA Programs ranking evaluated schools based solely on data related to their distance education MBA programs. For this ranking, U.S. News assessed MBA programs using five categories -- Student engagement (28 percent), Admissions selectivity (25 percent), Peer reputation (25 percent), Faculty credentials and training (11 percent), and Student services and technology (11 percent).
