Ashland University Receives Affirmation of Dual ACBSP Accreditation

8/15/17 ASHLAND, Ohio – Ashland University’s Dauch College of Business and Economics has received word from the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) that its dual accreditation has been approved with no areas of concern.

“We received a letter from the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs saying that the Baccalaureate/Graduate Degree Board of Commissioners met earlier this year and reviewed the College’s Quality Assurance Report for our overall business programs and the separate accounting accreditation,” said Dr. Elad Granot, dean of the Dauch College of Business and Economics. “After this review, the board voted to accept our report without any notes or conditions.”

Granot said the full compliance report means that the next quality assurance review by ACBSP is set for 2021, with the next 10-year reaffirmation of accreditation due in 2022. Regular reviews are a key part of the continuous quality improvement process, ensuring the high quality of accredited programs.

Ashland University has been accredited by the ACBSP since 1992 and the letter communicating this positive report noted that ACBSP is looking forward to its continued relationship with Ashland. “Thank you for providing quality business programs for your students. We are happy to have you as one of our valued members,” the letter noted.

Granot said accreditation by the ACBSP is an important part of the College’s future. “Accreditation by the ACBSP is very important to us and I want to praise the Associate Dean Ray Jacobs and all of the College’s leadership, faculty and staff for contributing to this achievement,” he said.

The ACBSP has been accrediting business education programs at the associate, baccalaureate, masters, and doctorate degree levels worldwide since 1988. ACBSP's accreditation focuses on recognizing teaching excellence, determining student learning outcomes and a continuous improvement model.

ACBSP’s student-centered teaching and learning approach, which is measured and analyzed for quality, ensures that students gain the right skills from their educational investment. Institutions with programs accredited by ACBSP are committed to continuous improvement that ensures their business program will give students the skills employers want.
