2/1/17 ASHLAND, Ohio – Ashland University’s Annual Fit Fest – the NIRSA Recreational Sports and Fitness Day -- will be held Feb. 19 from 1 to 5 p.m. in the Ashland University Recreation Center. The event will include a triathlon, Mr. and Mrs. Fit competition, Sample Group X classes, vendors, prizes and food.
The event, which is free except for the triathlon, will be open to the public for the first time this year. All proceeds from the event will go to the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation.
The indoor triathlon will cost $5 per participant or $15 for a team of three and includes biking, treadmill and swimming. The indoor triathlon participants have the options for one-, two- and three-person teams and will ride the bike for 20 minutes, run on the treadmill for 20 minutes and swim for 20 minutes.
The deadline for entry for the triathlon is Feb. 17 and those wanting to sign up for the event can fill out the form at the customer service desk at the Recreation Center or email firstname.lastname@example.org for an online submission.
