Ashland University Sets 12th Annual Ford Lecture

9/19/14 ASHLAND, Ohio – Rachel Lavine, chief executive officer of Atrium European Real Estate, will be the featured speaker for the 12th annual Dr. Lucille F. and L.W. Ford Distinguished Business Lecture and Luncheon at Ashland University.

Lavine has been the chief executive officer and member of the Board of Directors at Atrium European Real Estate since 2008. Atrium is a leading owner-operator and developer of hypermarket and supermarket-anchored shopping centers in Central and Eastern Europe. The company is dual listed on the Vienna and Amsterdam NYSE Euronext Stock exchanges.

Lavine has extensive experience in the management of public and private companies related to international real estate development, construction and operations. She is a former president and CEO of Plaza Centers (Europe) BV, a major developer and operator of shopping and entertainment centers in Central and Eastern Europe.

From 1999-2006, she was the president and CEO of Elscint Limited, a real estate development company listed on the New York Stock Exchange. She also has served as an external director of Dor Chemicals Ltd. and other public companies. In addition, she was the vice chairperson of U. Dori Engineering Works Corporation Ltd., a Tel Aviv stock exchange real estate development and construction company.

Lavine, a CPA, is a prominent figure in both European and Israeli real estate and capital market circles. She is viewed as one of the top two women in Israel’s property sector and is one of only a few real estate CEOs in Europe. She graduated from Tel Aviv University, College of Management, and received an Executive MBA from the Kellogg School of Management. A resident of Amsterdam, she is involved in a variety of industry and philanthropic activities.
