Ashland University Theatre presents: "Experience/Experiment:The 2010 One-Act Play Festival"

4/1/10 Ashland University Theatre will present its final production of the season, "Experience/Experiment: The 2010 One-Act Play Festival," Wednesday to Saturday, April 21-24, at 7:30 p.m. in the Studio Theatre in the Center for the Arts. Each night of the festival will include four works produced, directed and performed by Ashland University students.
The first production, "Women in Heat" by Rich Orloff (as part of the three-part play, Incredible Sex), is directed by Joshua Moore, a senior theatre major from Springfield. The cast includes Ashley Conlon, a senior theatre major from Cleveland, as Kim; Tara Kodosky, a sophomore theatre major from Spencer, as Marge; Emily Plank, a freshmen music education major from West Salem, as Charlene; and Aaron Arnold, a freshmen theatre and marketing major from Chardon, as Matthew. Stage managers are Westley Moore, a sophomore theatre major from Cadiz; and Amanda Marie Duffee, a sophomore theatre major from Sylvania.
The second production, "Ferris Wheel" by Mary Miller is directed by Natasha Cline, a junior theatre major from Columbus. The cast includes Andrew Rothhaar, a sophomore theatre major from Mansfield, as John; and Sarah Saddler, a junior political science and sociology major from Jefferson, as Dorie. Bradley Cronenwett, a freshmen theatre major from Shelby, is the stage manager.

The third production, "Stop Crying Your Heart Out," an original play by Natasha Cline, is directed by Nicholas McCrea, a junior theatre major from Ashland. The cast includes Ethan Greenberger, junior integrated language arts major from Mason, as Paul; Alexandra Vittetoe, a broadcast communications major from Ashland, as Isla; and Cody White, sophomore speech communication major from Wooster, as Jerry. Samantha Collier, a freshmen theatre major from Columbus, will be the stage manager.
The fourth production, "You Belong to Me" by Keith Reddin, is directed by
Lauren Yobbagy, a junior theatre major from Delaware. The cast includes Brandi Slease, a sophomore early childhood education major, as Joyce; Mark Leach, a sophomore theatre major from Norton, as Larry; Madeline Beer, a sophomore from Shelby, as Georgette; and Matt Goldsmith, a sophomore political science major from Ashland, as Ted. Rebekah Frient, a sophomore theatre major from North Canton, will be the stage manager.

Costume designers for the plays are Amanda Marie Duffee (Stop Crying your Heart Out), a sophomore theatre major from Sylvania; Rebekah Frient, a sophomore theatre major from North Canton, and Amanda McKinney, a junior theatre major from Vermilion, (Ferris Wheel); Sean Smith (You Belong to Me), a junior integrated language arts major from Painesville; and Kathryn Stogran (Women in Heat), a senior early childhood education major from Columbus. The sound designer for "You Belong to Me" is Elizabeth Buza, a senior political science major from Willowick.

Student shop assistants include Steve Bornhoeft,a freshmen theatre major from Hudson; Ashley Conlon,a senior theater major from Cleveland; Michael Cook, a sophomore theatre major from Weston; Taylor Hale, a junior theatre major from Hinckley; Jake Kinney, a junior music education and musical theatre major from Ashland; Cassandra Lersch,a sophomore from Pinellas Park, Florida; Mark Maruschak, a senior marketing major from Painesville; and Rachel Turos, a senior theatre major from North Royalton.

Costume shop assistants include Rebekah Frient,a sophomore theatre major from North Canton; Brittany Hartman, a sophomore theatre major from Strongsville; Antoinette Kula, a senior vocal music education major from Independence; Amanda McKinney, a junior theatre major from Vermilion; Sean Smith, a junior integrated language arts major from Painesville; and Kathryn Stogran, a senior early childhood education major from Columbus.
Ticket prices are $10 for adults; $9 for senior citizens, children, AU faculty and staff and non-AU students; $8 for groups of 10 or more; and $2 for AU students with ID. Box-office hours are Monday-Friday 12 noon to 6 p.m. and one hour prior to each performance.
