7/20/17 ASHLAND, Ohio – Ashland University has received word from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) that its business programs are “eligible for accreditation.” The accreditation will cover both the college’s undergraduate and graduate programs.
“In May, our president Dr. Carlos Campo signed the application for AACSB initial accreditation for the Dauch College of Business and Economics and we have been told that the Initial Accreditation Committee met and reviewed our eligibility application and determined that Ashland University is ready to proceed with the initial accreditation process,” said Dr. Elad Granot, Dean of the Dauch College of Business and Economics.
Granot said he will receive an official decision letter from the Committee in the coming weeks that will detail the next steps in the process.
“This new accreditation will place a quality seal on Ashland University’s business programs and allow our programs to be ranked by more institutions, which will support our continuous efforts for improvement and increased reputation,” Granot noted.
Granot and Associate Dean Dr. Ray Jacobs, as well as department chairs and faculty, have attended seminars and conferences to prepare for the AACSB accreditation and also improve the Dauch College of Business and Economics.
“The AACSB accreditation is one of the five strategic pillars that I am working on with the Dauch College faculty. The AACSB accreditation adds to the college’s already existing ACBSP accreditation and the new accreditation will help the college grow stronger and better reach and teach students,” he said. “The College is eager to take the necessary steps to gain full AACSB accreditation and plans to make improvements by hiring additional faculty members while continuing its legacy of providing an intimate quality education for students.”
