10/30/13 ASHLAND, Ohio - Hayley Ramser, a junior marketing major at Ashland University, has been awarded the 2013-2014 Business Advisory Council Endowed Scholarship from AU’s Dauch College of Business and Economics.
Ramser received the prestigious $1,024 scholarship at the fall 2013 Business Advisory Council Meeting earlier this month. Ramser was selected from among 16 eligible students, all of whom had a GPA of 3.5 or higher. As part of the process, the students were required to submit a letter of interest, resume and three letters of references.
Established in 2006, the scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time undergraduate junior or senior majoring in business or economics. The scholarship criterion requires the recipient to have a record of outstanding leadership in the Dauch College of Business, on the AU campus and in the community.
Ramser serves as the finance vice president of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. She also was an Orientation Team member, where she engaged with and mentored freshman students.
In the summer of 2012, Ramser had the incredibly rewarding experience of traveling internationally to Taiwan with the COBE in Taiwan Program. She is an Alpha Lambda Delta Honorary and an inductee of Delta Mu Delta.
Dr. Jeff Russell, dean of the Dauch College of Business and Economics, said “Ramser’s continued commitment to academics, leadership and service is commendable and we are fortunate to have her in the Dauch College of Business and Economics.”
Ramser is described by faculty in the Dauch College of Business and Economics as “an exceptional leader as well as someone who is dependable, hard-working and thinks outside the box.”
Ramser, who is the daughter of Mark and Denise Ramser of Gambier, Ohio, is majoring in marketing with minors in international business and fashion merchandising. The 2011 graduate of Mount Vernon High School plans to graduate from Ashland University in May 2015.
