Ashland University theatre alumnus Evan Tyrone Martin, Class of 2006, was featured in the Chicago Tribune’s Hot New Faces of Chicago Theater.
Martin is listed as one of 10 of the most exciting young talents to emerge from within the vibrant theater scene.
"We're tapping all 10 for stardom. Along with so many of their talented peers, they're the reason Chicago theater is in constantly thrilling renewal," said Chris Jones, the writer of the article.

Evan Tyrone Martin -- This serious, deeply committed 33-year-old actor from Cleveland, a graduate of Ashland University, says he tried living in New York for a year. "But I decided the creative scene in Chicago was just so much more appealing," Martin says. And in short order he's become a big part of that scene, appearing in the past couple of seasons as Curtis in Porchlight Theatre's superb production of "Dreamgirls," Tom Collins in "Rent" at the Paramount Theatre and Harpo in the Mercury Theatre production of "The Color Purple."
