5/13/14 ASHLAND, Ohio – William P. Gravitt III has been named vice president of institutional advancement at Ashland Theological Seminary, effective June 1, 2014. Gravitt will replace Dr. Lee Solomon, who retires after 20 years at the seminary.
Gravitt joined the Seminary in 2007 and has held various positions in the area of development, most recently serving as the director of advancement. Before joining ATS, Gravitt served as a therapist and COO at Cornerstone Psychological Affiliates.
“Will brings a wealth of experience in the administrative, development, pastoral and clinical counseling areas,” said ATS President Dr. John Shultz. “Will’s strong relational connections have been a great asset to the Seminary over the last several years.”
In his new position as vice president of institutional advancement, Gravitt will be responsible for the planning, leadership and implementation of all Seminary fund-raising initiatives as well as the planned giving, endowment, scholarship and alumni engagement programs.
Gravitt holds a master of arts in clinical pastoral counseling (MACPC) degree from ATS and lives in Ashland with his wife, Stephanie, and their two children, Sydney and Luke. The Gravitts are involved at 5 Stones Community Church in Ashland where Gravitt serves as an elder. He also serves on the governing board of Associated Charities of Ashland and is a member of the Board of Education for the Ashland City Schools. Gravitt is an alumnus of the Leadership Ashland program.
