Jeffrey Alix Receives Professional Development Scholarship

1/7/11 ASHLAND, OH -- Jeffrey Alix, director of Alumni and Parent Relations for Ashland University, has received a $1,500 Professional Development Scholarship from the National Educational Alumni Trust (NEAT).

Alix, who was one of 14 winners selected by the scholarship committee, is a 2001 graduate of Ashland University and has been director of alumni and parent relations since April. Prior to that, he had served for three years as annual fund director at Ashland University.

Amy Spelman, director of Alumni Programs at Western Illinois University and chair of the scholarship committee for NEAT, announced the award. Scholarships were awarded in October 2010 to enable recipients to attend a professional development conference during the 2010-2011 conference season.

"We are pleased to announce the 2010 NEAT scholarship recipients," said Spelman. "The partnership between NEAT and its member institutions is truly demonstrated by the commitment to reward these talented up-and-coming alumni relations professionals."

NEAT is a not-for-profit organization that provides insurance and financial services to constituents of its 140 member associations. NEAT insurance plans and programs are administered and marketed by USI Affinity Collegiate Insurance Resources.
