3/16/10 ASHLAND, Ohio --Ronald G. Garriques, president of Communication Solutions for Dell, will present the sixth annual Burton D. Morgan Entrepreneurial Lecture at an Ashland University luncheon at the John C. Myers Convocation Center on April 12. Garriques will share his insights on entering the job market and making a difference.
The 1 p.m. luncheon is presented by the Ashland University Richard E. and Sandra J. Dauch College of Business and Economics and the lecture is sponsored by the Burton D. Morgan Foundation. Burton D. Morgan was the co-founder and president of Fasson Products as well as the founder and president of Morgan Adhesives Company. In addition, Morgan created Basic Search Inc. as his personal venture company and founded the Burton D. Morgan Foundation to perpetuate and nurture the entrepreneurial spirit to preserve and support the Free Enterprise System in America.

As president of Communication Solutions for Dell, Garriques focuses on bringing to market connected computing products and services through new channels of distribution, including telecommunications, cable, satellite and others.
Previously at Dell, he served as president, Consumer, where he was responsible for Dell's portfolio of consumer products, including desktops, laptops, software and peripherals, as well as product design and sales.
Prior to joining Dell, he served in various leadership roles at Motorola. He was most recently responsible for the Mobile Devices division. He also was senior vice president and general manager of the Europe, Middle East and Africa region for Personal Communications Services (PCS) division where he drove sales, customer satisfaction and market share improvements. He also served as senior vice president and general manager of worldwide product line management for PCS.
He also held management positions at AT&T Network Systems, Lucent Technologies and Philips Consumer Communications.
Garriques earned a master's degree in business administration from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Boston University and a master's degree in mechanical engineering from Stanford University.
He is a member of the Board of Trustees of Boston University, chairman of Boston University's Alumni Council and a member of the board of directors of the United Way of Lake County, Ill.
The Burton D. Morgan Center for Entrepreneurial Studies at Ashland University is dedicated to encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship across the Ashland campus.
