Ashland University’s Spring 2017 Commencement will be held on May 6 at 10 a.m. at Jack Miller Stadium, located in the Dwight Schar Athletic Complex off Broad Street. The speaker for this event is Rob Portman, United States Senator from Ohio.
Students and faculty who are participating in the ceremony are to assemble on the Ferguson soccer field and track located southwest of Miller Stadium at 9 a.m. No tickets are needed for the ceremony held at Miller Stadium.
In the event of rain, the ceremony will be held in Kates Gymnasium inside the Physical Education Center. The location of commencement will be listed at the top of the AU homepage by 7 a.m. on Saturday, May 6. If the ceremony is indoors, lineup for undergraduate and graduate students as well as faculty will be in the Conard Field House and each undergraduate and graduate student will have four tickets to allow friends and family to attend an indoor ceremony. Tickets are packaged with the graduating student’s cap and gown. Overflow seating also will be available in the Student Center Eagles’ Nest and the Student Center Auditorium, where the ceremony will be broadcast live at each venue.
A buffet luncheon will be held in Myers Convocation Center following the graduation ceremony. Tickets are required for the buffet luncheon. Each graduate and two guests will receive this buffet at no charge. For additional guest graduation tickets, there is a $17 charge for adults, a $7 charge for children under 10 and no charge for children under 3. It is recommended that you purchase tickets by April 28, 2017, by ordering online from the bookstore website -- http://www.ashlandbookstore.com/commencement.
Luncheon tickets will be returned to you by mail. If your request is received after April 28, your tickets may be picked up Commencement day in the lobby of the upper level of the Convocation Center. If you have questions, call Auxiliary Services at 419-289-5249.
Handicapped seating is available at the stadium. Please mention this need to the ushers and usherettes handing out programs at the entrance to the stadium.
