Dr. Elad Granot is the Dean of the Dauch College of Business and Economics at Ashland University. Dr. Granot has over 25 years of management, administration and leadership experience in a variety of military, business and academic institutions. He has served as an executive in large multinational organizations in the US, Europe, Australia, and the Middle East, and has spoken extensively to diverse groups of managers, companies, and executives around the globe on various business topics. Dr. Granot has advised numerous companies and non-profits on strategic marketing, branding strategies, qualitative marketing research, customer service, and competitive positioning.
Dr. Granot possesses a wealth of academic and professional experience, including a record of effective and inspiring leadership, proven management and financial skills, and an entrepreneurial spirit. Elad has a multifaceted skillset, which includes institutional planning, curriculum development, program assessment, policy development, and international educational programs and partnerships. Among his areas of expertise in academic administration and leadership are Organizational Entrepreneurship (Intrapreneurship), AACSB accreditation standards, student performance assessment, Assurance of Learning (AOL), and curriculum development.
Dr. Granot has demonstrated the ability to encourage, develop, and support quality teaching, scholarly research, and creative activity, and to build effective relationships with external constituents.
Prior to joining Ashland University, Dr. Granot served in a number of progressively responsible roles at Cleveland State University’s Monte Ahuja College of Business, most notably as assistant dean for MBA programs, special assistant to the provost for eLearning development, special assistant to the president for global initiatives, and director of graduate and undergraduate student services and academic recruiting, advising, and support. Granot was instrumental in building the MBA program to become the largest in Ohio, maintaining the College’s AACSB accreditation, globalizing the Cleveland State brand, and building new, mobile programs and course offerings and strategies. Dr. Granot then served as the Dean of Rider University’s College of Business Administration. His key accomplishments as Business Dean at Rider included spearheading the dual AACSB reaccreditation process, revising the MBA curriculum, and launching a fully online MBA. Other strategic initiatives he led were launching the 3+1 and 4+1 accelerated degree programs, growing the Veterans Entrepreneurship Program, and overseeing the Leadership Development Program to its national top-5 ranking.
Elad has been on the forefront of higher education eLearning, starting with UMass Online, and designing, developing and launching the Mobile Accelerated MBA (Mobile AMBA) program at Cleveland State University, in cooperation with Apple, Blackboard, McGraw Hill, and Verizon.
Dr. Granot's research has been published in the top academic journals, and featured in the media including NPR and ABC News. Along with many publications in refereed journals and numerous refereed conference papers, he has been recognized for excellence in teaching multiple times, being awarded the Merit Award for Teaching Excellence and the Legacy Award for Excellence in Teaching.
