Ashland University Receives Affirmation of Dual ACBSP Accreditation

Ashland University’s Dauch College of Business and Economics has received word from the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) that its dual accreditation has been approved with no areas of concern.

“We received a letter from the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs saying that the Baccalaureate/Graduate Degree Board of Commissioners met earlier this year and reviewed the College’s Quality Assurance Report for our overall business programs and the separate accounting accreditation,” said Dr. Elad Granot, dean of the Dauch College of Business and Economics. “After this review, the board voted to accept our report without any notes or conditions.”

Dr. Elad Granot, dean of the Dauch College of Business and Economics, was featured on a WEWS-TV 5 Cleveland news segment with Jonathan Walsh. Dr. Granot spoke about Ohio's tax-free weekend as a part of the On Your Side investigation that looked into whether the tax holiday really saves people money. Granot called the tax-free weekend a political stunt.

"The data shows that for the state it's pretty much a wash," Granot said. "They're not losing any revenue because most of the consumers will walk into stores and buy stuff that's covered by the tax break but then buy a lot more things that are not."
