Ashland University to Host 51st Annual Mohican District Science Day

3/23/11 ASHLAND, OH -- A total of 281 students from 44 schools are expected to converge on the Ashland University campus Saturday, March 26, for the 51st annual Mohican District Science Day. Sponsored by the Mohican District Junior Division of the Ohio Academy of Science, the event will be held in Ashland University's John C. Myers Convocation Center.

Ohio Treasurer to Speak at Ashland University as Part of Ashbrook Lecture Series

3/22/11 ASHLAND, OH -- Josh Mandel, Ohio Treasurer of State, will speak at Ashland University on April 19. Mandel will address "Standing Up to the Establishment with Principle and Ideas" as part of the spring 2011 Major Issues Lecture Series presented by the John M. Ashbrook Center for Public Affairs at Ashland University.

Seminary Sets Final Presentation as part of King James Bible Anniversary Celebration

3/22/11 ASHLAND, OH -- Ashland Theological Seminary's celebration of the anniversary of the King James Bible will conclude with a presentation on the topic of "Shaping You" on March 24 at 7 p.m. at the Gerber Academic Building on the seminary campus at 910 Center St.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will feature a panel discussion by Ashland Theological Seminary Biblical Studies faculty members on the topic "What Translation is Right for Me? How to Choose a Translation."

Steve Martin’s Comedy Takes Ashland University Stage with Guest Director

3/21/11 ASHLAND, OH -- Ashland University Department of Theatre opens the final main stage production of its 2010-2011 “award-winning” season with “Picasso at the Lapin Agile” by funny-man Steve Martin, winner of the 2003 Mark Twain Humorist Award. Ashland University Theatre welcomes guest director Alexander Yannis Stephano for this production in Hugo Young Theatre on April 8, 9, 15 and 16 at 7:30 p.m. and April 17 at 2 p.m.

Earth Week Set at Ashland University

3/21/11 ASHLAND, OH -- Along with initiatives seen around the world, Ashland University is "Going Green" in hopes for a better environment. Though recycling is the most visible form of this movement, Ashland University is working hard to promote a more sustainable living in many different facets. One of these events is Earth Week, held at Ashland University the first full week in April.

Award Winners Announced at Ashland University Juried Student Art Exhibition

3/18/11 ASHLAND, OH -- The award winners have been announced for the Ashland University 2011 Juried Student Art Exhibition that will run through April 1 in the University's Coburn Gallery.

The outside juror for the exhibition was Kate Shannon, assistant professor of art at Ohio State University-Mansfield Campus, and she was responsible for selecting the exhibition consisting of 73 artworks from among a competitive field of 121 student entries and also designating the award recipients.
