Ashland University's Alpha Phi Sorority Plans Red Dress Gala

10/14/10 ASHLAND, OH -- Ashland University's Alpha Phi Sorority is hosting its second annual Red Dress Gala on Nov. 6. The gala, which is open to University friends and members of the community, raises money for the Alpha Phi Foundation, an organization dedicated to helping families in need with assistance ranging from disaster relief to help following a death in the family.

Ashland Center for Nonviolence to Host Panel Discussion on 'Can Politics Be Truthful?'

10/13/10 ASHLAND, OH -- The Ashland Center for Nonviolence will host a panel discussion featuring three Ashland University professors discussing "Can Politics Be Truthful?" This event is free and will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 19, at 7:30 p.m. in the Ridenour Room of the Dauch College of Business and Economics.

Director of the B. Kenneth Simon Center for American Studies at The Heritage Foundation to speak at Ashland University

10/13/10 ASHLAND, OH -- Matthew Spalding, director of the B. Kenneth Simon Center for American Studies at The Heritage Foundation, will speak at Ashland University on Oct. 26. Spalding will address "Realigning American Politics: Do We Still Hold These Truths?" as part of the fall 2010 Major Issues Lecture Series presented by the John M. Ashbrook Center for Public Affairs at Ashland University.

Ashland University to Bring Master Illusionist to Campus

10/12/10 ASHLAND, OH -- Tickets are still available for the Mayhem and Misdirection Tour, which will feature a variety show of music, mystery, illusion and comedy by master illusionist Harris III and special guest 321 Improv Comedy at Ashland University on Oct. 30 in Hugo Young Theatre.

The 7:30 p.m. show, sponsored by the Center of Religious Life as a part of the Christian Activities Day events, will offer "hilarious, interactive, life-changing fun for the entire family." Doors will open at 7 p.m.

Ashland Theological Seminary Sets Lecture Series on "Women Called to Preach and Lead"

10/6/10 ASHLAND, OH -- The Ashland Theological Seminary's Fall Lecture Series, titled "Breaking Stained Glass Ceilings: Women Called to Preach and to Lead," is scheduled for Oct. 25 and 26. All lectures for the series will be held in the Smetzer Auditorium of the Gerber Academic Center at ATS.

The series will focus on supporting women in their calling to ministry and leadership, and will feature Dr. Roberta Hestenes as keynote speaker and Dr. Mimi Haddad as plenary speaker, as well as Dr. Paul Chilcote and Dr. Claudia Sadler-Gerhardt leading workshops.

Ashland University's Delta Zeta to Present Quiet Love

10/4/10 ASHLAND, OH -- On Friday, Oct. 8, the sisters of Delta Zeta sorority at Ashland University will be welcoming the performers of Quiet Love to the Ashland University campus.

The Quiet Love Foundation will be performing a powerful presentation of the Gospel set to contemporary Christian music. The show starts at 8:30 p.m. in Redwood Hall on the Ashland University campus and tickets for members of the public will be available at the door the night of the event for $3. All proceeds will benefit Delta Zeta's philanthropy, The Speech and Hearing Impaired.

Ashland University Women's Chorus Performing Fall Choral Concert with Friends from Galion and Hillsdale High School Choirs

10/4/10 ASHLAND, OH -- Ashland University's Fall Choral Concert will feature its own Ashland University Women's Chorus along with two area high school choral programs from Galion High School and Hillsdale High School. Free and open to the public, the concert is scheduled for Sunday, October 10, at 4 p.m. at the University's Jack and Deb Miller Chapel.
