Violinist Kimberly Hain Performs Faculty Recital with Pianist Megan Barth

2/15/11 ASHLAND, OH -- The Department of Music at Ashland University presents a faculty recital on Thursday, Feb. 24, at 7:30 p.m. in the Elizabeth Pastor Recital Hall featuring violinist Kimberly Hain with pianist Megan Barth. The performance is free and open to the public.

Featured pieces for the concert include Beethoven's Violin Sonata No. 5 in F, Op. 24 "Spring," Brahms' Violin Sonata No. 2 in A, Op. 100, and a solo piano performance of Schubert's Drei Klavierstucke D. 946.

Ashland Center for Nonviolence at Ashland University Sets Third Tuesday Programming - Merton Readings & Discussion

2/10/11 ASHLAND, OH -- The Ashland Center for Nonviolence (ACN) Third Tuesday Programming will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 15, at 7:30 p.m. in the Hawkins-Conard Student Center Auditorium on the Ashland University campus. The program will be a discussion focusing on selections from Merton's writings, collected in "The Pocket Thomas Merton," Robert Inchausti, editor.

Ashland University Hosts Aerobics and Fitness Association of America Certification

2/9/11 ASHLAND, OH -- Ashland University will be hosting an Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) Primary Group Exercise certification workshop Saturday, March 19, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. This AFAA workshop is for current or interested group exercise instructors whose training and educational background has prepared them to take the APAA Primary Group Exercise Certification exam.

'Life and Art' Panel Discussion Offered in Conjunction with Musical Production

2/9/11 ASHLAND, OH -- Ashland University Departments of Theatre and Art collaborate to offer a panel discussion about "Life and Art" in relation to the upcoming production of Stephen Sondheim's musical "Sunday in the Park with George."

The panel will serve as a talkback immediately following the theatre performance on Friday, Feb. 25, in the University's Studio Theatre. While that evening's audience members are welcome to attend, the panel discussion is free and open to the public.

Ashland University MFA Program to Host Open House

2/7/11 ASHLAND, OH -- The low-residency Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing (MFA) Program at Ashland University will be hosting an open house on Tuesday, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m. in the Dauch College of Business Building, Room 105, located on College Avenue.

MFA Director Stephen Haven and Administrative Director Sarah Wells will give a brief presentation about the program and will be available to answer any questions about the program. Light refreshments will be provided.

Ashland University to Host Ashbrook Colloquium on Whittaker Chambers

2/7/11 ASHLAND, OH -- The Ashbrook Center at Ashland University will host a colloquium on "Whittaker Chambers: The Spirit of a Counterrevolutionary" presented by Richard Reinsch, program officer at Liberty Fund Inc. on Feb. 25.
