Ashland University MFA Program to Host Open House

2/7/11 ASHLAND, OH -- The low-residency Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing (MFA) Program at Ashland University will be hosting an open house on Tuesday, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m. in the Dauch College of Business Building, Room 105, located on College Avenue.

MFA Director Stephen Haven and Administrative Director Sarah Wells will give a brief presentation about the program and will be available to answer any questions about the program. Light refreshments will be provided.

Ashland University to Host Ashbrook Colloquium on Whittaker Chambers

2/7/11 ASHLAND, OH -- The Ashbrook Center at Ashland University will host a colloquium on "Whittaker Chambers: The Spirit of a Counterrevolutionary" presented by Richard Reinsch, program officer at Liberty Fund Inc. on Feb. 25.

Ashland Area Community Concert Band Begins Rehearsals Feb. 15

2/4/11 ASHLAND, OH -- The Ashland Area Community Concert Band (AACCB), led by Ashland University's Director of Bands Leonard Salvo, announces its spring schedule beginning with rehearsals on Tuesday, Feb. 15, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in the Elizabeth Pastor Recital Hall at Ashland University's Center for the Arts.

The spring schedule continues with rehearsals every Tuesday evening through April 26, and a concert at Ashland's Guy C. Myers Memorial Band Shell in Brookside Park on Father's Day, Sunday, June 19.

Clarinetist Thomas Reed Presenting Faculty Recital Focused on the Romantic Era

2/3/11 ASHLAND, OH -- The Department of Music at Ashland University presents a faculty recital on Sunday, Feb. 13, at 7:30 p.m. in the Elizabeth Pastor Recital Hall featuring Music Department Chair and Professor of Music Dr. Thomas Reed on clarinet with pianist Christina Fuhrmann. The performance is free and open to the public.
