Ticket sales for 45th annual Madrigal Feaste end Nov. 24

ASHLAND, Ohio – Tickets are on sale only a couple more days for the Madrigal Feaste, a beloved and long-running tradition at Ashland University. The popular event is back this year after being a victim of the COVID pandemic a year ago, and the 45th annual show will be held Wednesday to Sunday, Dec. 1-5, at Redwood Hall. The doors open at 6 p.m. each night, with the royal procession to begin at 6:30 p.m.

Presented by AU’s Department of Music and directed by Rowland Blackley, the Madrigal Feaste is an Elizabethan-style dinner theater that includes a four-course meal culminating in flaming bread pudding, with musical and theatrical entertainment before, during and after the meal. The AU Chamber Singers, attired in period-style costumes sing Christmas carols, ceremonial music and madrigals, which are a cappella songs about love from around 400 years ago. To round off the evening, a theatrical troupe, led by the Jester, performs an original play and improvises fun during dinner.

Tickets must be purchased in advance of the Madrigal Feaste and sales will end on Wednesday, Nov. 24, at 5 p.m. In-person purchases can be made at the AU campus store through Tuesday, Nov. 23, at 5 p.m., while tickets can also be bought online at ashland.universitytickets.com or by calling 419-289-5336.
