Dr. Beth Patton

Dr. Beth Patton, associate professor of exercise science and physical education, joined Ashland University in 1998. Her area of expertise includes fitness assessment and exercise prescription, group exercise instruction, tests and measurements in physical education, and supervision. Dr. Patton serves as the chair for Schar College of Education Curriculum Committee and faculty advisor for the Exercise Science Majors Club. She serves as a National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE) STARS reviewer and auditor and is currently secretary for the Midwest district of the American Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. She is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), Physical Best Specialist and certified Group Fitness Instructor. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in health and physical education (K-12) and Masters of Science degree in exercise physiology from the University of Akron and a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction: Health Education from Kent State University.

Dr. Louis Mancha

Dr. Louis A. Mancha, Jr. is an associate professor of Philosophy, specializing in Medieval and Early Modern Philosophy, and Philosophy of Religion. He received his B.A. from Rice University, and his M.A. and PhD. from Purdue University. Dr. Mancha has delivered papers at several national and state conferences, including Meetings of the American Catholic Philosophical Association, the Society of Christian Philosophers, the American Maritain Society, the Midwest Conference in Medieval Philosophy, and the Ohio Philosophical Association.
