Dr. Jeffrey Russell

Dr. Jeffrey Russell

Dr. Russell joined Ashland University's Dauch College of Business and Economics faculty in 2000. Dr. Russell has taught courses in microeconomics, macroeconomics, game theory, and money and banking. Research interests include teaching with simulations, game theory and behavioral economics, as well as economic development in areas with a manufacturing tradition. Dr. Russell grew up in Northern California and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in economics and international relations from the University of California, Davis. A college course in tractor driving helped him obtain his first post-college job as a tour guide at Rodale’s Organic Farm in Allentown, PA. Dr. Russell returned to Northwestern’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management to earn an MBA with concentrations in finance and accounting. He then worked for twelve years in commercial banking for a variety of banks in Chicago, Sacramento, and South Bend, Indiana, prior to returning to school in 1995 to pursue his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Oregon.

Beverly Piper

Beverly Piper

Professor Beverly J. Piper, associate professor of accounting and information systems, joined Ashland University in 1979. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with an active license to practice accounting from the State of Ohio. In addition, she holds a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certificate which indicates achievement of proficiency in cost and managerial accounting, finance, economics, information systems, and business policy. She teaches financial accounting, managerial accounting, and cost management. She earned her Master of Science in accounting from the University of Toledo and her Bachelor of Science in education from Bowling Green State University.

Dr. Mark Nadler

Dr. Mark Nadler

Dr. Mark A. Nadler is the A.L. Garber Family chair in economics and chair of the department of economics and finance in the Dauch College of Business and Economics at Ashland University. He has an undergraduate degree in accounting and a Ph.D. in economics. Dr. Nadler has many publications in the area of economic and financial education and is a monthly columnist for Employee Benefit News where he writes on 401(k) issues and investment education. Dr. Nadler teaches undergraduate theory courses and managerial economics at the MBA level.
