Dr. Nitin Walia

Dr. Nitin Walia

Dr. Nitin Walia, assistant professor in information systems, joined Ashland University in 2010 after completing his Ph.D. in information systems from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He also holds M.S. degrees from Oakland University, MI and Pune University, India. Previously, he has worked as an IT Analyst at 3M, USA and BayTalkitec in India.

His research interests include healthcare delivery systems, virtual worlds, online marketplaces, web-design interface issues, and open source software adoption and development. He is also working on issues related to delivering medical services through virtual worlds, funded by Southeastern Wisconsin Clinical and Translational Science Institute. His work has been presented and published in several national and international conferences. His areas of teaching include data analytics, database management, e-Business, and the Master of Business Administration program.

Dr. Darren Wick

Dr. Darren D. Wick received a bachelor of science degree in aerospace engineering from Purdue University; a master of science degree in mathematics from Utah State University; and a doctor of philosophy degree in mathematics from the University of Oregon. Dr. Wick came to Ashland University in 2000 following 5 years as a member of the department of mathematics at Millsaps College. He has taught a wide variety of courses in his career, most recently elementary statistics, calculus, numerical analysis, and history of mathematics. His research interests include associative ring theory and algebra, the foundations of mathematics, and open source software applications.
