Daniel McDonald

Originally from Boise, Idaho, Dan McDonald received both his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Sculpture and his Bachelor of Arts in French Literature from Brigham Young University in Provo, UT, and his Masters of Fine Arts degree from Clemson University in South Carolina. He has exhibited his works regionally and nationally with work represented in public and private collections in Utah, Idaho, South Dakota, South Carolina and Ohio. Coupled with his fine art works, he acts as a consultant and designer for Rain Drop Products, Inc. of Ashland, OH, helping with the sculptural aspects of water park features. Dan is currently the chair of the Art Department. The second child in a family of ten children and having lived in France, Switzerland and Sweden, Dan bases many of his pieces on themes surrounding his familial, religious and cultural upbringing. He works in bronze, steel, plastics, video and any other material or media necessary to create narratives that display the complexities of paradox and the irresponsibility of manipulation.
