5/10/12 ASHLAND, Ohio -- The Coburn Gallery at Ashland University announces a national juried exhibition titled “Time will Tell: A Show of Artistic Wisdom and Experience,” which will feature 47 artworks created by artists at least 50 years of age residing in the United States.
The juror for the exhibition was George Kocar, an award winning artist who has exhibited his paintings in more than 400 shows across the United States. He received a bachelor of arts degree from Cleveland State University in 1977 and a MFA degree from Syracuse University in 1983.
The exhibition includes local artists Nancy Booth, Barbara Nell Morejon, Susan Shafer, Diane Kaye, Carl Alessandro and Heidi Weller of Ashland County. Richland County artists include Linda Chevalier, Ken Arthur, Betsy Oberhausen, Dean Smith and Jane Johnson as well as 18 artists from northeast Ohio, Columbus, Dayton and artists represented from the states of Missouri, Florida and California.
This exhibition, which will run from May 18 through June 15, 2012, will culminate in a collection of works that embody the creativity and innovation of artists ages 50 years and older at all levels of artistic endeavor.
An opening reception will be held on Friday, May 18, from 6 to 7 p.m., with $800 in awards announced at 6:30 p.m.
