AU Coburn Gallery’s focus to turns to color and pastels for Art Saturday on March 28

02/26/2020 ASHLAND, Ohio --  Ashland University’s Coburn Gallery will host an Art Saturday titled “Explore Color & Pastels through Fauvism” for children ages 7-12 on March 28 from 10:30 a.m. until noon.

The event will guide children through making a vivid and bold landscape with oil pastels. They will learn about artists like Derain and Matisse and see how they chose to represent the world as bright and full of color, even if it's not what they saw through their windows.

There is a  $5 art fee per child. All supplies are included and class sizes are limited. Pre-registration is required.

Classes are located in Room 346 of the Center for the Arts on the Ashland University campus. For more information or to register a child for classes, contact the Coburn Art Gallery at 419.289.5652 or coburngallery@ashland.edu or go to www.ashland.edu/coburngallery.
