1/11/17 ASHLAND, Ohio – Ashland University theatre major Ceyanna Stasick of Sullivan, Ohio, is sealing her college career with a senior theatre performance project scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 21, at 7:30 p.m. in the University's Studio Theatre.
As fulfillment for her senior theatre project, Stasick will perform August Strindberg’s one-act play, “The Stronger,” followed by a contrasting musical theatre cabaret. Stasick’s goal for her performance is to emphasize Ashland University's philosophy of Accent on the Individual “to show that the theatre department has created a well-rounded performer.”
Directed by Jacob Poiner, her performance will be accompanied by pianist Deb Logan and include guest performers Andrea Disch, Jacob Ellis, Megan Saupé and Muslimah Williams. Musical selections include songs from Broadway shows such as West Side Story, Shrek!, A Chorus Line, Wicked and Ragtime as well as Mary Lambert's She Keeps Me Warm.
Stasick is a graduate of Black River High school, and has been involved in Ashland productions as an actor and production crew member. Her Ashland acting credits include Brianna in AU's production of Lindsay Joy's original script, In the Event of my Death, for New York's Farm Theatre inaugural College Collaboration Project; and Carrie Ellis in The Autumn Garden. She also was the stage manager for the productions The House of Blue Leaves with director Teresa Durbin-Ames, and Dead Man’s Cell Phone with director Rachael Swartz.
Stasick’s senior project performance is free and open to the public, but tickets are limited. Interested patrons should secure their free tickets at their earliest convenience through the Ashland University box office at 419.289.5125.
