Ashland University’s administration is closely following the police investigation in our area. As always, our students' safety is a primary concern for us, and we will continue to monitor the situation carefully and communicate any relevant information in the days ahead.
We want to assure all students and their families that at this time we do not think there is any reason to believe that our students are at an elevated risk of any kind.
We know that the remains of two people were found in downtown Ashland on Tuesday morning and the remains of a third person were found in nearby Richland County. Law enforcement officials have said the deaths are linked. One male is being held in the Ashland County Jail in connection with this investigation.
