9/21/11Dr. Jeff Weidenhamer , trustees' distinguished professor of chemistry, was quoted and referenced in an article titled "Cadmium in Children's Jewelry to be More Tightly Regulated" on the website. The article credited Weidenhamer with the study that found that many pieces of cheap metal jewelry contain potentially harmful traces of the toxic chemical.

9/17/11Dr. Peter Schramm professor of political science and executive director of the Ashbrook Center, was quoted in a Cleveland Plain Dealer article titled "Ohio congressional redistricting could lead to interesting election matchups."

9/08/11Research Published by Dr. Diane Bonfigilo assistant professor of psychology, and Dr. Kristin Kuntz at The Ohio State University, was highlighted in a story in Psychiatric News, the newspaper of the American Psychiatric Association.

The story, found at:, discusses the importance of mental health screening of organ transplant candidates. This story cites an article titled “Psychological Distress in Patients Presenting for Initial Renal Transplant Evaluation,” which was co-written by Drs. Kuntz and Bonfiglio and is in the current issue of the Journal of Clinical Psychology in Medical Settings.

7/12/11The Cleveland Plain Dealer ran an article on Broadview Heights resident June Hund who “Best of Show” at the Ohio All-Media Juried Exhibition at Ashland University’s Coburn Gallery. The article also featured the collage that won her the award.

6/11/11U.S. House Speaker John Boehner spoke at the Ashbrook Center’s Memorial Dinner and the speech was broadcast on C-Span Sunday June 12) night and Monday (June 13) morning. It can be seen at: . The speaker’s remarks were distributed following the event and several media, including the Los Angeles Times, ran a story noting his remarks.

6/07/11An Associated Press Story that quoted Athletic Director Bill Goldring and dealt with Ohio State running back Jermil Martin was picked up by newspapers throughout the country, including Detroit Free Press, Minneapolis Star Tribune, St. Louis-Post Dispatch, San Jose Mercury News, San Antonio Express-News, WCMH-TV 4 in Columbus, Columbus Dispatch, Cincinnati Enquirer and Youngstown Vindicator.

5/08/11Dr. John Stratton, executive director of the Ashland Center for Nonviolence, had a guest column titled “Don't confuse vengeance with justice when glorifying killing of bin Laden” printed in the Sunday, May 8, edition of the Mansfield News Journal.
