Ashland University’s new Master of Arts in Corporate and Strategic Communication program features two concentrations: Health and Risk Communication and Public Relations. The new program is an expansion of the Master of Arts in Health and Risk Communication program that has been offered for a number of years.
The new program, which is the only one of its kind in the nation to be offered in a fully online format, is designed to prepare prospective public relations professionals for a variety of advanced-level communication and consultant positions in the fast-growing fields of public health and risk communication as well as corporate and strategic communication.
If you’ve got a passion for public outreach, corporate messaging, public relations, health marketing and encouraging people to act in a way that keeps them safe and free of risk, this program could be an excellent fit for you.
The new program will both expand your educational experiences and save you significant amounts of tuition dollars – as the program’s tuition has been reduced from $725 per credit hour to $550 per credit hour.
Recognizing the market need for communication specialists, AU has invested significant resources in this program. We are working with expert on-line education instructional designers to incorporate best-practices in learning.
Our graduate advising staff members are experts and will work closely with you to discuss your plans for taking classes in the degree program.
In addition to these changes, the new courses will be adapted to follow an eight-week semester (seven weeks of instruction with one week of instructor grading) plan. Best practices indicate that given the busy lives of adult learners, this format is much more effective in online education delivery and provides greater flexibility for our students.
The things that won’t change with the new program are:
1. The quality of our unique curriculum. The quality of our courses will remain exactly the same; we are simply adding another concentration in Public Relations to address the great demand that exists for such programs.
2. Our commitment to our dedicated students; we will continue to employ the best instructors throughout the country and remain committed to excellence.
Those in the Department of Communication Studies are extremely proud that Ashland University has recognized the growth and excellence of our program. These changes can only serve to enhance your educational experience, better adjust to the busy lifestyles of our students, and save our students significant tuition dollars. The first series of courses for those students wishing to pursue the public relations track will be offered in Spring 2017.
