Ashland University Lecture to Discuss Theology and Immigration

Theologian Justin Ashworth of Duke University will give a lecture titled "The Location of Peoplehood: A Theological Contribution to Immigration Debates" on Monday, March 17, at 7 p.m. in the Ridenour Room of the Dauch College of Business and Economics on the Ashland University campus.

The lecture, which is sponsored by Ashland University’s Religion Department, is free and open to the public.

Ashworth believes that theology and immigration are connected in a number of ways.

Ashland University Professors to Discuss Science and Morality

Two Ashland University professors will participate in a forum on the question of “What Makes Us Moral?” on Wednesday, Oct. 16, at 7 p.m. in the Ronk Lecture Hall in the Schar College of Education.

Dr. Mason Posner, professor of biology, and Dr. Craig Hovey, associate professor of religion, will discuss the question of science and morality. The event, sponsored by the Department of Religion, is free and open to the public.

The Ashland University Department of Religion will sponsor two events on campus this fall in an effort to make students, faculty and community members aware of two global issues. The events are free and open to the public.

Carl Ralston, founder of Remember Nhu, an organization dedicated to preventing children from ever being sold into the sex trade industry worldwide, will be in the Eagles’ Nest in the Hawkins-Conard Student Center, on Wednesday, Sept. 25, from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. to talk about the group’s work.
