Ashland University to Host Series of MBA Open Houses at Regional Centers

6/14/10 ASHLAND, OH -- Ashland University's master of business administration degree program will host an open house at each of its regional centers during the month of July.

The events, which are free and open to the public, will begin at 6 p.m. The dates for the open houses are:

*         Monday, July 19, for the Columbus Center, located at 1900 E. Dublin-Granville Road.

*         Tuesday, July 20, for the Westlake Center, located at Corporate College, 25425 Center Ridge Road.

Ashland University Office of Admission Moves to New Welcome Center

6/11/10 ASHLAND, OH -- As of Monday, June 14, the Ashland University Office of Admission will have a new home and will be located in what will be known as the Welcome Center/Office of Admission at 430 College Avenue. This building was formerly known as the Gill Center.

Thomas Mansperger, director of the Office of Admission, said the admission staff is excited about the new offices and the new location on campus. The Welcome Center/Office of Admission is located on College Avenue next to the Dauch College of Business and Economics.

Medina Resident and Ashland University Graduate Conducts Research and Attends Annual Meeting

6/4/10 ASHLAND, OH -- Jacqueline Skiba, a resident of Medina, is conducting research at Ashland University this summer and attended the annual meeting of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Skiba attended the meeting with Dr. Mason Posner, professor of biology at Ashland University, and an Ashland student, Amy Drossman of Sandusky.

Seminary's Commencement Ceremony Set for June 5

6/1/10 ASHLAND, OH -- Ashland Theological Seminary will confer 201 degrees to members of its 2010 graduating class at the commencement ceremony to be held Saturday (June 5) at 10 a.m. in the John C. Myers Convocation Center on the Ashland University campus.

Dr. T. DeWitt Smith Jr., president of the Progressive National Baptist Convention Inc., will deliver the commencement address titled "Good Neighbor Lessons for God's Church."

Ashland University Recreation Center to Host Dive-in Movie

6/1/10 ASHLAND, OH -- Ashland University's Department of Recreational Services will present "Alice in Wonderland" (2010) as its Summer Dive-In Movie on Saturday, June 26, at 7 p.m.

The movie provides an opportunity for people to relax in the pool by floating in an inner tube while watching the movie. The movie is open to everyone. The cost is $5 per person and snacks will be sold for $1 each during the movie.

Lake Erie Crushers Add Ashland University's Dr. Curt Ickes as Player Development Specialist

6/1/10 ASHLAND, OH -- Dr. Curt Ickes, associate professor of psychology at Ashland University, has been added as player development specialist to the staff of the Lake Erie Crushers baseball team, the 2009 Frontier League champions.

Ickes teaches clinical and sport psychology courses at Ashland University as well as maintaining a private practice. A graduate of Northwestern High School, Ickes earned an undergraduate degree at Ashland University before receiving graduate degrees from the University of Akron and Kent State University.

Ashland University's Coburn Gallery Exhibition to Feature Work of Cuyahoga Falls Artists

5/27/10 ASHLAND, OH -- The Coburn Gallery at Ashland University will be hosting a summer art exhibition that will open with a reception on June 27 from 2 to 4 p.m. for the artists Lindsay Scypta, Sandra Holata and Donald R. Miller. Admission to the exhibition is free and the exhibition runs through July 16.

The Brutality Fields is the sixth in a series of installations by Holata and Miller detailing a journey, together and individuals, of truth, hope, despair and redemption.
