At Ashland University we want to recognize faculty, staff, and administration members who go above and beyond to make a positive impact on the AU community. One of the ways we do this is through an employee recognition program called RISE (Recognizing Individuals for Service Excellence).
The annual RISE Award was presented by AU President Carlos Campo at the fall All-Institutional Meeting held on Tuesday, Aug. 24. Tammy Repp, student accounts representative, and Dr. Thomas Reed, professor of music and chair of the Department of Music and Theatre in the College of Arts and Sciences, were selected as the recipients of the 2020-2021 RISE Award. At Ashland University, Veterans’ Services uses PsychArmor to train faculty and staff how to better serve military-connected students in their classrooms and offices. PsychArmor is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that offers critical resources to Americans so they can effectively engage with and support military service members, veterans, and their families.

Did that actor on stage at the Mansfield Playhouse look familiar?
It might well have been John Moser, AU professor of history. He is, after all, a bit of a renaissance man.
Moser, who joined the AU faculty in 2001, is no novice when it comes to theater.
Effective June 1, 2021, McGohan Brabender has assumed responsibilities as Ashland University’s benefits consultant. McGohan Brabender is an employee-owned insurance broker based in Dayton with additional offices in Cincinnati, Columbus, and Indianapolis. They will assist AU with evaluating benefit options for employees and by helping increase employee engagement through effective communication of AU’s employee benefits along with education opportunities about benefits in general.
